The great qawwalis are coming one by one and I thank you all for it. I am specially fond of Man Atkeya Beparwah De Naal, zero.

Nusrat and his men at their utter best. As for the poetry of Shah Hussein, it goes straight to the heart and from there, if this is not considered too fanciful, to the soul. Even those who do not like Nusrat very much would find it hard to resist the beauty of this qawwali.

Finally the Sabri Brothers got posted here. Many thanks. They were a great group, if finally eclipsed by the matching or even more evident greatness of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The above qawwali shows them in a very modern mood. I personally do not like women's voices in the qawwali, but that's simply a prejudice of mine. Not trying to impose it on anyone. And now, in return, below the most moving piece the Sabri Brothers ever sang.

SEM. on this day of particular misfortune for Pakistan with Baluchistan going up in flames (PMLN's third egregious mistake in three days after Faisalabad and the horror of the so-called Budget, what better balm for woes than to listen to Nusrat and take heart once again.

Tujhe dil lagee bhul janee pare gi, the song that brought back Pakistan youth at the time from falling completely into the trap of west msic was a sund reminder that our patriotism, if it exists, must learn to put up with every sacrifice. Mast nazaron of course is a song full of delicate touches, even if feminists might not find it quite to their liking. And the last one has tremendous alap, followed by the joy of hearing the unforgettable voice of the young Rahat joining in with the older members of his family and the other great qawwals. I've just spent a very movin and inspiringg hour listening to these qawalis. Thank you very much.
